The first step to successfully advertising your dry cleaning business is to come up with a strong offer. A strong offer should be unique to your market and be something that gets a new customer to take a second look. Let me give you a few examples of dry cleaning advertising offers I have seen in the past. I want you to look at them and mentally make a note of which offers you like the best.
1. 20% off any order of $20 or more
2. $5.00 in free dry cleaning
3. One week of free dry cleaning (5 laundered shirts and 2 slacks)
4. 5 free dress shirts
5. 10% off your 1st order
Which ones do you think are great offers? Lets look at each offer together.
Offer 1 – Stinks! No one likes catches (especially new customers) and it isn’t sexy enough. Running this offer would probably get you ZERO new customers.
Offer 2 – This offer is better but, for people that have disposable income don’t care about $5.00 off anything. This offer is heading in the right direction but it is not enough to get any large customers up off the couch to call you.
Offer 3 – Now this offer ROCKS! If a prospect gets this offer and does dry cleaning, you have a good chance of getting a phone call from them.
Offer 4 – Another good strong offer that will get a regular dry cleaning customer to take a second look at what you have to offer.
Offer 5 – This is probably the worst offer of the lot of them and will get little if any response except maybe from coupon shoppers who jump from deal to deal.
Dry cleaning advertising for routes is a but different than dry cleaner advertising for a store front but with the right offer, made to the right people you to can win over new customers and grow your dry cleaning business.
